The Naked Gun

Thrilled to be part of Gallery1988’s 30 Years Later show opening this Friday in Los Angeles. This group show celebrates the films of 1988. Decided to celebrate one of my favorite movies, The Naked Gun and one of my favorite human beings ever, Leslie Nielsen. Prints will go on sale online Saturday on Gallery1988s website and my Bigcartel store. 24″ X 36″ 5 colors.SLHdesign.bigcartel.com

Fun fact about Leslie Nielsen, for 25 years he carried around a small squeezable fart maker wherever he’d go even tv interviews and randomly let out fake farts for laughs and uncomfortable stares. Conan O’Brien once asked him if he ever took it out at an inappropriate time like a date and Leslie said thats the best time to take it out, what better way to find out if someone really likes you. The man was comedy and a total class act. RIP.

Friday The 13th Part VII – The New Blood

Creepshow

When George A. Romero passed earlier this year it hit me pretty hard. Most people know him as the godfather of the zombie genre, however he is also responsible for a personal childhood favorite of mine. In 1982 he directed a collaboration with writer Stephen King and makeup special effects master Tom Savini called Creepshow. 2017 marks the 35th Anniversary of Creepshow. It was easy to draw inspiration from the original poster designs illustrated by Joann Daley (Creepshow 1) and Winters (Creepshow 2). As a child, first seeing their depictions of the cycloptic cinephile Death on the covers of VHS copies at the gas station/video store my family would frequent while on vacation in the Stephen King-esqu small town of Alpena, Michigan in the 90s quickly made me the horror fan I am today. You can see and purchase the regular edition at Gallery1988 this Friday the 17th for their Crazy 4 Cult group show from 7pm-10pm. Remainders will go on sale the following day on their website as well as my artist proofs and artist exclusive green variant on my site.

Spent 9 months of my life designing this. Started October 15, 2016 and just got it back from the printers a week ago. Can’t thank Delicious Design League enough for knocking this print job out of the park. This will be available this Friday at Gallery 1988: LA for their “30 Years Later” show starting at 7pm.

Patton Oswalt

Had a blast designing this. Inspired by my favorite comedian, Patton Oswalt.

The image depicts Patton as Hackos The Mad Comedian surrounded by the skulls of lesser comedians. On his hand he’s wielding the Comedy Gauntlet which contains The Stand-Up Gem, The Improv Gem, The Sitcom Gem, The Observational Gem, The Sketch Gem, and The Gem Varney. Also in this issue we are introduced to Dave Attell (Captain Miserable) and his team, The Unfuckables (“A midget friend, an albino friend, and a friend who thinks Lord Of The Rings is real”), a reference I took from Attell’s “Skanks For The Memories” Album and turned into the lamest superhero team ever. There are also a couple Easter Eggs in there, like Remy The Rat and Patton’s Birthday as the issue date.

  • 20″ X 30″
  • 5 Colors
